‘…Temp’s willingness to reconstruct himself as a musician is indicative of an artist with an awful lot to give…’
Bedroom pop musician Miles Temp has been working hard at crafting his own niche since 2022, with his intimate and lo-fi approach garnering the Liverpool musician much attention from BBC Radio 1 and Radio X. Performances have included an appearance on the BBC Introducing stage at their Big Weekend event in 2025, and a slot at this year’s inaugural ‘So Long, Good Friday’ fest in Merseyside.
A dreamy, synth-led number, ‘In Your Arms’ retains the indie singer-songwriter vibe of Temp’s foundational work, but evolves upon it in a genuinely beautiful way. Atmospheric yet cozy, the track swirls about the listener with waves of undulating electronics punctuated with sparkling arpeggiated keys. Gorgeously produced, the track carries a real cinematic warmth whilst maintaining a minimalist, intimate identity.
In the midst of this blossoming, glossy soundscape sits Temp himself, a compelling vocal presence with his warm, inviting tones. Just as smooth and enveloping as any of the instrumental layers of this sumptuous track, Temp sings of unapologetic adoration and letting oneself feel vulnerable with a genuine, gentle yet infectious hope; you can only hope that this track may play as part of the soundtrack of your life.
Temp’s willingness to reconstruct himself as a musician is indicative of an artist with an awful lot to give. ‘In Your Arms’ feels just as natural to behold as any of Temp’s prior work, losing none of the folkish bard energy that he originally presented with. A delightful addition to your playlists for golden late summer evenings.
