Liverpool based singer-songwriter Miles Temp has been releasing music since 2022, with their debut teenage single ‘The End?’. He’s since released a steady stream of singles, and attracted the attention of local journalistic legends such as BBC Introducing’s Dave Monks, and Boot Music. Now, ahead of a performance at Sound City, Miles has released another brand new single, ‘Before You’.

‘Before You’ is a track of simple elements: gentle acoustic strumming, minimalist percussive beats, gorgeous vocals, and just the softest hint of synths. The instrumental is a soft, shimmering affair, with the lo-fi nature of it all giving the track a bedroom pop feel; it’s confessional and cozy, without feeling at all twee.

Vocals effortlessly alternate between a vulnerable, feathery upper register, and soulful, strident belted passages, giving Temp’s performance a real sense of charisma and storytelling.
