‘…From the wonderfully executed musical performances, to the sheer quality of the production, Nobody’s Secret already sound ready to take on the world…’
Nobody’s Secret arrived last year with their debut single, ‘Over Me’, a bombastic, soulful number that combined raw arena rock power with jazzy flair. Now at long last, the band have returned, stepping firmly into the era of their upcoming debut EP, ‘Serpent’. Offering another glimpse into their sonically luxurious world is their brand new single, ‘Wait Another Day’.
This lusciously produced pop-metal banger is a gorgeously cinematic affair, flowing through slick dark pop beats, soaring guitar riffs, and sparkling synth hooks. Evidence of influence plucked from genres as far ranging as RnB to metalcore can be uncovered throughout, with soulful, groove-laden verses effortlessly unfurling into sharp, juddering post-chorus breakdowns, all tied together with pop polish.
Vocalist Jadzia Rock, as with the band’s previous single, is a monumentally captivating figure throughout; there is clear power in her voice, yet how she chooses to control and harness this is what makes her truly impressive to behold. Never once does she overshadow the gorgeously performances instrumentals, yet never once do you as a listener feel anything less than enthralled by her silky performance. The artistic chemistry between Rock and her fellow band mates is a delight to behold.
It is a little startling how perfected Nobody’s Secret’s sound already feels; it is incredibly easy to imagine ‘Wait Another Day’ being played on BBC Radio One, introduced as the latest single from the hot new band of the moment. From the wonderfully executed musical performances, to the sheer quality of the production, Nobody’s Secret already sound ready to take on the world; this is a band with great potential.
