’…It is clear that End Credits are striving to be more than just another indie band, and the creativity born from that ethos is apparent…’
Based out of north-east England, End Credits are a three-piece with ambition. Pulling from a wide range of sonic influences, from Deftones to The Doors, the band have seen increasing success on their local circuit, as both festival staples and a popular choice of support act. Now seeking to push through to the next level of their career, the band offer an incredibly solid new single that is guaranteed to be lodged in your brain for the next week.
With a stunning performance provided by drummer Eddy Mason-Pooley, ‘I Need Time‘ is buoyed throughout by a relentless, driving percussive rhythm that jitters with electrifying energy. Atop this is layered a simple, jagged guitar riff, glittering, spacious synths, and a buoyant, melodic bass line demands that you dance.
The vocals delivered by Cameron Young alternate between a subdued melancholy and surprising screamed vocals that carry a frustrated, ferocious energy to them; this leads to some brilliantly infectious choruses, with the centra ‘I need time’ vocal hook commanding you to sing along.
Whilst the indie rock core of the track is clear, the ways in which is subtly laced with elements of post-punk and funk are what makes it truly stand out. It is clear that End Credits are striving to be more than just another indie band, and the creativity born from that ethos is apparent; it’s certain to be interesting seeing where this band ends up.
